Nowadays in our city students try to find new ways of entertainments. They tired from cafés and night clubs. They want something different. So this post about two friends — Lena and Masha, who thought up a popular mean to have fun.
Russians call it "kvartirnik". This is a special kind of apartment party where people meet with others to have a good time and make new friends. The concept of such parties is based on home atmosphere and comfort. Each "kvartirnik" has a subject like photos, board games, etc.
That is Masha says about their first experience in organizing such parties: "Before this we wanted to hold a photo exhibition and started looking for the places. We didn’t like galleries and malls for it because we considered these sites were absolutely obvious. And at the same time I moved to a new flat where earlier was a studio. So at once we understood it would be the best place for our photo exhibition".
But girls decided to make this exhibition in friendly air and by informal way. They cooked wafers, made tea and decorated a room with photos and various domestic things. Then Lena and Masha with help their friend Dima informed people about the party in social networks. In that time had come about 50 students. And they all enjoyed of this unusual party. After that girls received a lot of enthusiastic reviews and they decided to continue making apartment parties. «We still feel owing to go on because guys asks to us when will be another "kvartirnik", — Lena added.
How do Lena and Masha find ideas to new meetings? "Often we get ideas from different events in our city. For example the second "kvartirnik" was timed to the week of French cinema in Novosibirsk. And we invited people to see some French shorts and then to discuss it with Poline. She works in organization named Alliance Française", — Masha told.
Now these apartment parties it’s a new trend among students. Girls are fond of organizing this parties for a year and don’t want to end it. If you decide to make something like this you’ll be able to use the next direction from Lena and Masha.
How to organize "kvartirnik"?
- Take a really good idea which will be interesting for your peers.
- Make a team.
- Find the apartment.
- Think up some interesting details because general impression depends on them. For example it can be special music, décor, contests, quiz, and etc.
- Cook candies and buy light alcoholic drinks.
- Count expenses. Lena: "Kvartirnik" it’s not a commercial event so you need to remember about self-repayment. We usually spend our own money but take a nominal charge for entrance».
- Invite people.
